April 9, 2015 - 2015 pre-Construction Season Kick-off Public Meeting
A public meeting was held April 9, 2015 to provide more information about the 2015 construction season. Construction in the Council Bluffs Interstate System will be significantly increased from years prior. This will impact people traveling on the interstate and businesses at interchanges that are under construction. Changes from 2014 construction projects were discussed, including scheduling of ramp closures of U.S. 275/Iowa 92 and I-29 near Metro Crossing. 2015 construction projects that were presented at the meeting included:
- I-29 and U.S. 275/Iowa 92 Interchange
- East System Interchange of I-80/I-29
- West System Interchange of I-80/I-29
- Consolidating railroad operations west of Mosquito Creek under I-29 and Iowa 92
In an effort to keep you as informed and prepared as possible, the Iowa DOT invited the public to attend an open house to discuss how to help mitigate these construction impacts. Project team members were on hand to answer questions or concerns from the public.
