December 6, 2006 – Public Hearing
A public hearing was held December 6, 2006, for the Environmental Assessment prepared for segment 1 of the Council Bluffs Interstate System Improvement Program. The purpose of the hearing was to update the public on the design of segment 1, and allow the public to comment on the design, Environmental Assessment and Section 4(f) finding (minimal impacts to Deer Hollow Park and the Henry Doorly Zoo). Activities included:
- a presentation to the public on design features such as an additional Missouri River I-80 bridge, replacement of the Riverview Boulevard Bridge over I-80, and widening of the interstate.
- answering questions during an open house session before and after the presentation.
- discussion with landowners concerning potential property acquisition.
