March 24, 2016 - Pre-Construction Public meeting
A public meeting was held on March 24, 2016 in advance of the 2016 construction season to inform the public about what to expect during the upcoming construction season. The Iowa DOT expects that on-going work will impact people traveling on the interstate and businesses at interchanges that are under construction. An overview of 2016 construction projects was presented, including:
- I-29 and U.S. 275/Iowa 92 Interchange
- East System Interchange of I-80/I-29
- West System Interchange of I-80/I-29
- Consolidating railroad operations west of Mosquito Creek under I-29 and Iowa 92
Staff also gave an update on the on-going environmental study and discussed the Preliminary Design Alternatives for the I-29/I-480/West Broadway Interchange project.
In an effort to keep you as informed and prepared as possible, the Iowa DOT invited the public to attend an open house to discuss how to help mitigate these construction impacts. Project team members were on hand to answer questions or concerns from the public.
